Carrie has represented individuals and small businesses on a variety of corporate and litigation matters, including corporate formation, 501(c)(3) designation, contract negotiation and dispute resolution. Carrie has particular experience serving clients in highly regulated industries, including healthcare. Having previously served as an investigator for the US Department of Health & Human Services Office of Civil Rights, Carrie is intimately familiar with healthcare privacy and discrimination regulations, including HIPAA.

Most recently, Carrie worked at the Children’s Law Center in Covington, KY representing teens and young adults in education and housing matters. Carrie has defended youth in school disciplinary matters, specializing in youth who qualify for special education services and youth who find themselves at the intersection of the education system and the criminal justice system. Much of Carrie’s work focused on stemming the School to Prison Pipeline by ensuring that kids had the resources they needed to be successful in school.

Carrie is trained in trauma-informed lawyering and brings that expertise into all of her work. In her representation of children, Carrie has experience representing both the child’s best interests and express wishes. In the past, Carrie served as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) with ProKids in Cincinnati, OH.

Prior to attending law school, Carrie served a year as an AmeriCorps VISTA with the Shriver Center for Poverty Law.
